LIVE Gastroscopy demonstration - 12 noon

Watch Dr. Dorothee and her team "scope" a horse to check it for stomach ulcers

(this IS a veterinary procedure and may not be suitable for all audiences, as sometimes horses will experience a nosebleed during or after the procedure). Featuring "Nex's Deckadent Dream", aka "Dex", a 9 year old Quarter Horse gelding owned by Abby Bukowski

Saddle fitting demonstration - 1 pm

Come and watch certified saddle fitter Mikayla Pick ("The Saddle Gal") explain what makes a saddle fit (or not). Both English and Western saddles will be covered. Featuring "ADayDreamBeliever", aka "Ella", a 5 year old Thoroughbred mare owned by Payton Fortin.

VSMT (equine chiropractic) demonstration - 2 pm

Dr. Dorothee will demonstrate and explain VSMT. Think this is voodoo? So did she, until she took a 6 month course that she swears was a repeat of vet school cramped into a fraction of the time, but taught her to feel the horse in a totally new way! Featuring "Metropolitan Girl", aka "Teddy", an 18 year old Thoroughbred mare owned by Finley Thomas

Trimming and shoeing demonstration - 3 pm

Meet farrier Emma Burnham and watch her assess, trim, and shoe one of our patients. She will discuss options, explain x-rays that we have of the horse, and together with the owner come up with plan to improve the horse's comfort level. Featuring "Dixie", a 15-ish Quarter Horse mare owned by Jill Mashaw.

Back pain in horses - LIVE demonstration - 4 pm

Dr. Dorothee will discuss the many causes of back pain in horses and demonstrate one of the least invasive but most effective treatment option, mesotherapy and shockwave treatment. Featuring "Willet", a 12 yr old Thoroughbred gelding, owned by Danielle Jerry.

Case Discussions with Dr. Dorothee - 5 pm

Bring a chair and join Dr. Dorothee for a barnside chat about some interesting cases to close out the day.
